Who can attend?

Our Summer Activities are open to children from all schools. The course has been designed to cater for pupils in school years 3-9.

Where do the activities take place?

All activities are based at King Henry VIII School, Laser Quest or the Sky Dome complex. Transport between sites will be by minibus.

How many days can my child attend?

Children can be signed up for anything from a single day, to the full eight weeks.

Who will be looking after my child?

All lead staff will be qualified teachers who have considerable experience in a wide range of subjects, or staff with activity specific qualifications. Assisting them will be members of the sports centre team. Qualified first aid trained staff and lifeguards will be on duty throughout.

How much does it cost?

Prices are: £110.00 per week or £28.00 per day which includes full supervision and participation in all on-site activities, break time drinks and biscuits.

How do I book on to the external activities?

We offer a number of optional, external activities, which are an additional charge. These can only be booked on the day of the activity, upon arrival. Places on these activities are limited to a maximum of 30 and in the interest of fairness, are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Is wrap around care available?

Activities begin at 9.00am each morning. However, staff will be available to supervise your child from 8.00am at no extra cost.
An aftercare service will be available 4.30-5.30pm, at an additional charge of £6.00 per day or £28.00 per week. Please include this in your booking. A range of unstructured activities will be on offer during these sessions. Please note that additional charges will be applied for late collection.

What will my child be doing?

We offer a wide range of sporting activities each day, making full use of the extensive facilities at King Henry VIII School. We also aim to offer a variety of non-sporting activities of a creative nature. Further details of the programme will be published closer to the time. Please note at the time of print no activities are confirmed and are subject to numbers attending.

How do I sign up?

In order to enrol your child, please complete a booking form and return to the sports centre, either in person, via post or email (contact details below). Please note that a booking confirmation will not be sent until full payment is received.

How can I pay?

All bookings must be paid for in advance. Payment can be made by:

What will my child need to bring?

We recommend your child brings the following each day:

  • Packed Lunch
  • Drinks bottle
  • Appropriate clothing/footwear
  • Sun cream/hat
  • Swimming kit & towel
  • Warm clothing if ice skating
  • Small amount of change for tuck shop is optional

Mobile phones, music players and portable gaming devices will not be permitted. Your child may bring a mobile phone if it is required for emergency contact purposes. However, it must be stored in their bag and not carried on their person. Members of staff will not be responsible for valuables.

What is the procedure for dropping off and collecting my child?

Parents must sign their child in and out at the Sports Centre Reception (in the Swimming Pool building). If a child is to be collected by anyone other than a parent or guardian please inform the staff on duty when signing in. Parking is available via the Spencer Road and Warwick Road entrances during drop-off and pick-up times. Site access is limited throughout the day and late drop-offs/early pick-ups will need to be arranged in advance.
